A woman of Jericho whose house was upon the town wall; she hid Joshua's two spies under the stalks of flax, said 'the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath', let them down by a cord through the window, and bound the scarlet line in it; she and all her father's household were saved when the wall fell, and she dwelt in Israel. 'By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not.'
Counted from Scripture: Israel crossed Jordan forty years after the Exodus (c. 1446 BC), so the spies came to her house c. 1406 BC. Scripture does not give her age.
