How I did it
How I named every creature: God brought them to me one by one, and waited to see what I would call them.
I didn't go looking.
Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air, and He brought them unto me.
The first man didn't name a thing he hadn't been handed. Step one: look at what's in front of you.
He brought each one to see what I would call it. He wanted to hear my word over His work.
Step two: speak. Whatsoever I called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
No committee. No second draft.
I opened my mouth and it stood. Step three: keep going.
Cattle, fowl of the air, every beast of the field — all of them got a name. Scripture doesn't say how long it took.
It took as long as it took. The odd ending: not one of them was a help meet for me.
I named the whole world and came up empty. Only God could fill what naming could not.
He made them all out of the ground. He let me speak over them.
